Rock Hall Snubs: Joe Cocker

Seriously? That can’t be correct. Certainly the late Joe Cocker, who as a rookie stole the show at the Woodstock Festival and subsequent movie, and then was the subject of his own full-length movie, double live album, and tour with Leon Russell fifty years ago with Mad Dogs and Englishmen, was inducted years ago, right? Acolyte of the great Ray Charles, the Yorkshire leather lungs who reinterpreted and made definitive versions of “Feelin’ Alright”,”With a LittleHelp from My Friends”,”The Letter”,”Cry Me a River”,”Unchain My Heart”,”You Can Leave Your Hat On”,”Up Where We Belong”,”She Came in Through the Bathroom Window”,”Delta Lady”,”When the Night Comes”, and “You Are So Beautiful” was a first ballot lock and somehow it’s just a typo that you can’t seem to find dear sweet Joe Cocker listed up where he belongs. Oh, if wishes were horses… Listen above and consider how such an egregious omission can continue, then be sure to vote by the deadline tonight  here . And listen to all of In the Studio‘s  20 Rock Hall Snubs  here . –Redbeard
