Black Crowes- Shake Your Moneymaker 35th Anniversary- Chris & Rich Robinson 1-27
It is easy to recall that throughout the year 1990 I relished Shake Your Moneymaker, this new Atlanta-based band The Black Crowe’s debut album, as a personal guilty pleasure amidst the detritus of a third wave of hair bands. Apparently a whole lotta folks felt similarly, as Shake Your Moneymaker would march up the Billboard Album Sales chart over the course of fifty-four weeks, eventually cresting at #4 and selling over a million copies initially (5X platinum now).
Singer Chris Robinson and guitarist/co-writer Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes will wet your beak with unvarnished true stories behind “Jealous Again”,”Twice As Hard”, “She Talks to Angels”, their terrific cover of Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle”, and the sleeper “Seeing Things (for the First Time”). Put on your soul shoes the week of January 27 for the thirty-fifth anniversary Shake Your Moneymaker with Chris Robinson and brother Rich of the Black Crowes here In the Studio. -Redbeard
